When is the best time of year to sell art besides the holiday season?
Summer is the second biggest art-selling season of the year, right after Q4 holidays. This happens because people are moving, vacationing, and out and about more. Families relocate during summer to get into school districts before the new school year, lease cycles tend to end in summer, and summer is the peak time for job relocations. When people move, wall space opens up and they need to decorate new homes. People also spend more time on their phones during summer while relaxing, giving you more access to their attention. This selling momentum carries right through Labor Day into the fourth quarter, making it a crucial time to stay consistent with your marketing rather than taking the summer off.
