I keep getting stuck on pricing strategies and whether selling prints will hurt my ability to sell originals. How should I think about these decisions before launching?
Stop overthinking tactics before you’re even in the game. Artists obsess over the ‘perfect’ pricing strategy or product mix as if finding the right tactic will guarantee success, but this is a self-limiting belief. You’re designing plays from your couch without being on the field—your store isn’t even open yet, it can’t take payments. The truth is: it doesn’t matter what prices you launch with. Nobody is watching you the way you think they are. Nobody will remember your pricing tomorrow. You don’t have enough traffic or customers for it to matter yet anyway. Whatever strategy you come up with will probably be wrong initially—that’s normal. You’ll adjust based on real market feedback once you’re live. The critical step is to get in the game first: get your store operational, get your work online, and start the actual work of marketing and selling. You can refine tactics later based on real experience, but you can’t refine anything if you never launch.
