How much money do I need to spend on marketing each month to grow my art business?
Next to nothing when you’re starting out. The common misconception is that you need a large advertising budget to succeed. In reality, you cannot begin to think about paid advertising until you have your marketing fundamentals in place—what we call being able to ‘do 100 push-ups.’ This means having a consistent marketing system with regular social media posting, active email marketing, and proven sales mechanisms already working. You need to build your marketing muscles through practice first. Start by posting consistently, capturing emails, emailing often, going live on social platforms, and running sales when appropriate. Once you have this system generating at least $5,000-$10,000 per year in sales, then you can consider a modest daily advertising budget.
