How consistent do I need to be with my art marketing to build a successful business?

Think of your marketing like keeping gallery doors open. If you owned a physical gallery, you’d open it consistently 5-6 days a week, even when inconvenient, because you’re committed to the business. You can’t go dark for months at a time and expect to maintain momentum. Consistency doesn’t mean posting 8 hours daily, but you cannot disappear for half a year. Treating marketing like a New Year’s gym resolution—starting strong in January then quitting by March—means you make no forward progress. Keep showing up regularly throughout the year to build a real business rather than a hobby.
