Should I have inventory of prints on hand, or can I sell originals only?

If you’re a painter selling originals at high price points like five thousand dollars, you absolutely need to have some prints or reproductions available at lower price points as well. This gives you options for different buyer budgets. If you’re claiming you want to get started but don’t have any prints of your work, that’s a problem - prints cost very little to produce (peanuts, very cheap). Having only high-priced originals limits who can buy from you. Get some affordable reproductions made so you have multiple price points to offer.
