Can augmented reality help artists who sell primarily in person at galleries or art shows rather than online?

Absolutely. Even if you never sell online, AR can be incredibly valuable for in-person selling. When you’re at a gallery or art fair and a potential buyer is interested but needs to see how a piece looks in their home, you can direct them to view your work in AR on their phone when they get home. Some artists use it consultatively during the sale itself. One artist had a client visit who planned to buy one piece, but he brought several others and used the visualization approach to show them in the client’s space—she ended up buying five additional pieces. If you could only choose one piece of digital technology for your business, AR is an excellent choice because it facilitates that crucial visualization step.
