How do I overcome the fear of showing my work to strangers and getting feedback?

Start by understanding that getting feedback is essential—it’s a loop. Create, get feedback, create, get feedback. Yes, walking up to a stranger in a bookstore or coffee shop with your art might feel crazy, but you’re already an artist, which is a little crazy in itself. The point isn’t necessarily to do that exact thing every time, but to put yourself in positions where you can have these conversations. Do art fairs, farmer’s markets, garage sales, or guerrilla-style table setups at busy corners. If approaching strangers directly feels too scary, bring a friend to help. The key is to stop creating in isolation hoping to be discovered. Put the work out there, have conversations, and let the feedback guide you to work that sells. Remember, even Pablo Picasso’s work didn’t all sell—but he kept getting feedback and adjusting until he became one of the greatest.
