How do I know if my art is good enough to sell? Friends and family say they love it, but I'm not sure how the rest of the world will react.
Don’t rely on what people say—rely on whether they actually buy. The only metric that truly matters is whether someone pulls out their credit card and makes a purchase. When someone compliments your work, that’s the perfect moment to say ‘Wonderful! Which one would you like to buy?’ and offer your payment options. You won’t know if your art sells until you actually put it in front of potential buyers—at shows, on your website with proper marketing, anywhere people can purchase. Feedback from friends and family is nice, but actual sales data from strangers is what tells you the truth.
