When is the biggest art selling time of the year and why should I start preparing now?

The biggest art selling time of the year is the fourth quarter—October, November, and December. You should be doing 50% or more of your annual sales during this period. The critical point is that you cannot just put up a sale on Black Friday and expect results. You need to start your marketing three months before the fourth quarter begins, which means starting in July. The artists and photographers who have massive success during the holiday season—selling $5,000, $10,000, $20,000 or more—put in the work beforehand. They launched way earlier and spent months building their audience and warming them up. If you haven’t taken advantage of this selling season in previous years, you’ve been strategically missing out by not executing properly during this crucial time.
