How often should I keep my art business 'open' through consistent marketing?
Think of your online presence like a physical gallery. If you owned a retail gallery, you’d keep it open 4-7 days a week depending on your location, even on days you don’t feel like it, because you’re paying rent. You wouldn’t close the doors for weeks or months with a sign saying ‘artist feeling burnt out, closed for summer.’ Yet that’s exactly what artists do with their marketing—they stop for weeks, months, or years. Running an art business online is fundamentally no different than keeping a gallery open. You don’t need to be ‘open’ 9-to-5 every day, but you cannot close up for 6-9 months at a time and expect the business to keep growing. Consistency is everything.
