How do I balance a day job, family, and building an art business?
Time is the biggest struggle for part-time artists juggling work, kids, and art. The key is consistency rather than volume—work in the evenings when you’re not at kids’ activities, carve out studio time where you can, and accept that progress will be incremental. Having a supportive partner who gives you the space to create is crucial. The other essential element is automating whatever you can, particularly marketing, so that emails go out and social media posts happen even when life gets overwhelming. You don’t have time to wear all the hats, so remove the ones you can (like inventory management and manual marketing). It’s not a race—just keep going consistently.
