How do I get started with video selling in three steps?
Step one: Accept that video is here and commit to using it. Step two: Get your inventory in order. Have samples of your work printed on the top six media types (fine art paper, photo paper, canvas, metal, acrylic, and wood) in small sizes. This is roughly a $100-$200 investment. If you create originals, you’re already set. Step three: Let people know you’re available via video. Announce everywhere—in emails, social posts, and broadcasts—that you’re available to discuss your work, explain media type differences, talk about hanging, discuss your process, or even have virtual happy hours. Make it clear people can reach you for video conversations about purchasing. The technology platform doesn’t matter—use whatever the person prefers: FaceTime, Zoom, or any other video tool.
