Should I focus on targeted outreach to museums and hotels, or on broader marketing like social media?
While you can absolutely do targeted outreach to specific buyers like museums, hotels, and corporate clients, most people fail at that approach because they underestimate how much work it is. It’s just as much work as doing regular, consistent social media marketing. The better approach is usually to focus on regular, consistent marketing—social media, email capture, website optimization—because it’s actually easier for those decision-makers to find you than for you to reach them. They don’t take cold calls, you have to literally stalk them, visit the location repeatedly, build relationships. You have to do significant work either way. With broad marketing, you build an audience, establish credibility, and make it possible for the right people to discover you organically. That said, you can do both, but don’t underestimate the effort required for direct outreach.
