I've been doing art shows and fairs for 20 years but never gathered email addresses. What should I do now?

Start gathering emails now using the fishbowl technique at your shows going forward. Also, go back through your records - dig into that shoebox of receipts you’ve kept over the years and start extracting whatever customer information you have (names, addresses, phone numbers). Get this data into a spreadsheet format. Even without email addresses, you can upload this information to advertising platforms which have become incredibly sophisticated at matching customer data to user profiles. Then start showing these past customers ads, which can help you reconnect with them and capture their email addresses now. Combine this with consistent email gathering at future shows, and you can build your list one email at a time going forward.
