Why do I need to practice running sales even when I have a small audience?
Marketing initiatives like sales are really hard to do, especially your first time. They require practice. Think about it this way: if you wanted to get really good at grilling steaks, how many would you need to cook before you felt confident? Definitely more than five—probably a lot more. With each steak, you’d learn about the sizzle, the heat, timing, how to create grill marks, when to pull it off, and how long on each side. There’s no shortcut. The same applies to running sales and marketing campaigns. Even if you only have friends and family on your list right now, running these initiatives helps you develop the skills you’ll need when your audience grows. You’re building the muscle memory and tradecraft for when it really counts, especially during major sales periods.
