What should I do at in-person events to get real feedback on my work?
Don’t let anyone walk away without asking if they’re interested in buying. When someone says they like your work or points out a favorite piece, immediately tell them the price and ask if they’re interested. If they hesitate, ask ‘What would you offer for it?’ and then stay silent. If they offer anything close to your cost, seriously consider selling it just to move the work and get validation. If people won’t even make lowball offers, that’s a signal you may not be on the right track with that subject matter.
