Where should I begin marketing my art if I have no budget?

Start with consistent marketing on social media—it costs nothing but time. The key is regular, consistent effort. Think of your art business like a retail gallery: if you owned a physical gallery, you’d keep the doors open 5-6 days a week, even when you didn’t want to, because you have a business. Your online marketing is the same—keep those metaphorical doors open consistently. Don’t go dark for months at a time. Post regularly, share your story (not just your art), engage authentically. The modern algorithms will find your people for you if you give them interesting content to work with. You don’t need a huge following anymore; platforms show good content to interested people regardless of follower count. The barrier isn’t money—it’s consistency and willingness to share beyond just your artwork.
