How important is having a defined niche to be successful selling art?
You don’t necessarily need a tightly defined niche to be successful. Many successful artists sell work across multiple subjects - landscapes, aviation, nostalgic subjects, different themes - and it all sells. While some artists do very well with a narrow, specific niche and simpler inventory, others thrive with diverse offerings. The key is having beautiful, creative images with compelling stories. If the work is strong and you can connect it to stories that resonate with buyers, it will sell regardless of whether it fits into one narrow category. Focus on quality and storytelling rather than forcing yourself into a niche if your creative range is broader.
