I have a website but driving traffic to it is a completely different animal. What should I do?
You’re absolutely right—having a website is just the ticket to the game. The website alone doesn’t create success; what happens after you have the website is what matters. Getting eyeballs to your site requires learning how to market consistently. This means capturing email addresses year-round, emailing your list regularly, running sales and marketing campaigns, being active on social media with authentic personal content (not just art images), and maintaining consistency even when it’s difficult. Think of marketing as keeping your gallery doors open. You need to learn the technologies and strategies for getting your message onto people’s phones and computers, because that’s where attention lives today. This is hard work and requires suffering through a learning curve, but it’s the only thing that moves the needle. Consider seeking out education, community, accountability, and ongoing coaching to help you stay consistent with marketing. The fundamentals are: maintain your website, leverage print-on-demand for product range, capture emails, email consistently, and market year-round. Do the best you can each year, but don’t let the doors stay closed.
