Everyone thinks my art isn't selling because of the quality. Is that true?

Art sales are not a meritocracy based solely on quality of work—that’s completely false. Art sales are actually 50-50: half is about who you are as the artist (do people know you, like you, trust you, find you interesting or inspiring), and half is the quality of the work itself. Your art and your creations are essentially the commercials, and you are the programming. No TV channel survives showing only commercials—you need programming to earn the right to show commercials. Similarly, you need to let people know who you are as a person to earn the right to show and sell your art.
