What if I can't afford to create many new pieces to test?
Art and photography are among the easiest businesses to prototype. You’re not building physical products requiring injection molds or writing complex software. As a photographer, you don’t need a massive photo shoot—take one picture of something you think is highly marketable, then another, then another. Look for the least amount of time needed to create a quality piece where a market already exists. You don’t have to create the market; find existing passionate audiences and create for them. The barrier to testing new work is lower in art than almost any other business.
