Why does comparison on social media hurt my creativity and business?

Comparison is cancer to your creative business. When you’re constantly seeing what everyone else is doing—especially during times when your life circumstances limit what you can do (like being a new parent)—you develop fear of missing out and start trusting the algorithm to bring you clients instead of trusting in yourself and your own vision. You end up creating work based on what you see others doing rather than what genuinely comes from within. You start feeding and catering to the algorithm, which becomes stressful and actually prevents you from making new work. When you remove yourself from that constant comparison cycle, you can refocus on your own unique vision and trust that the right opportunities will come. Your trust shifts from external validation to internal confidence. This is when breakthrough ideas actually happen.
