How do I balance music and my voice audio when creating Instagram Reels?
When you record yourself talking on camera and then add music to your Reel, Instagram doesn’t automatically mute you—it plays both audio tracks at full volume. You need to manually adjust the levels. While editing your Reel, look at the bottom of the screen for a ‘Volume’ icon among your editing tools. Tap it, and you’ll see controls for both your original clip audio (your voice) and the music track. Lower the music volume so it becomes background music while your voice remains the predominant audio. This way viewers can clearly hear what you’re saying with the music adding atmosphere rather than competing with your message.
