What's the single most important factor for growing an art business consistently year after year?

Consistency in marketing yourself. The analogy is simple: if you owned a physical gallery, you wouldn’t flip the sign to ‘closed’ for weeks or months just because you’re burnt out or it’s summer. You’d open the doors 5-6 days a week, even when you didn’t feel like it, even when life happened. Online, your ‘gallery doors’ are your consistent marketing—posting on social media, sending emails, showing up regularly. Most artists create consistently but market inconsistently, then wonder why the business doesn’t grow. You must learn to market yourself and do it consistently—that’s the only thing that moves the needle.
