How should I handle tire-kickers and chatty people at shows without losing real customers?
Be polite to everyone because you never know who will become a customer - people you think are just wasting your time sometimes end up making significant purchases. However, when you’re solo in a booth and someone is monopolizing your time while a serious potential buyer needs attention, it’s okay to politely excuse yourself. Simply say ‘I need to go help this person’ and shift your focus. You can’t let people pumping you for information or showing you their phone photos prevent you from engaging with customers ready to purchase. It’s about balance - stay courteous but prioritize actual sales opportunities.
