How should my art website look to sell effectively?

Your website should mimic the paradigm of an art gallery or museum: minimalist, monochromatic walls, the art prominently displayed with good lighting, a small placard with artist info, pricing clearly shown, and an easy checkout process. Most artists treat their website like a blank canvas and add too much—fonts, colors, slideshows, walls of text. All that visual noise prevents people from actually seeing the art. Keep it clean and gallery-like so the art is the focus.
