Why doesn't just posting my art constantly on social media work?

Posting only your art is like running the ‘art gatling gun’—art, art, art, art all day long. Your art is the commercials, and nobody wants to watch a channel that’s nothing but commercials. People don’t want to be sold to constantly. In a real-world gallery opening, you wouldn’t walk up to someone and say ‘art, art, art, buy my art’ nonstop—that would be insane. Yet that’s exactly what artists do online. Social media is meant to be a conversation. The algorithm sees constant selling and won’t amplify it because you’re not giving it enough to work with. You need ‘programming’ between the commercials—share who you are, what makes you interesting, your journey, your personality. That’s what gets people to actually stop and engage instead of scrolling past.
