What should I actually post on social media as an artist?
Post things that have nothing to do with your art. Make videos where you’re just you — talking about the weather, your interests, your daily life. If someone walked into a gallery opening, what would they learn about you in conversation? You’d talk about where you’re from, your interests, whether you’re a dog or cat person. Share that on social media. Think of it like programming on a TV channel — you need content that earns you the right to occasionally show the ‘commercials’ (your art). People need to know, like, and trust you as a person. Your art is only half the equation; who you are is the other half.
