What's the real difference between having an art hobby and running an art business?
There are many talented artists creating amazing work who are hobbyists, and there are talented artists running actual businesses. The difference isn’t talent or quality—it’s executing the basics consistently. To have a business, you must: have your art displayed on a website, capture email addresses from interested visitors, run sales and marketing campaigns, email your list regularly, maintain social media presence, and do all of this consistently throughout the year without long gaps. If you do these basics consistently, you have a business that’s going places. If you don’t, you have a hobby, regardless of your talent level.
