What does marketing consistency really mean for my art business?
Imagine you had a physical gallery. You’d keep it open 5, 6, maybe 7 days a week. You would never put up a ‘closed for summer, artist burned out’ sign. But that’s exactly what artists do with their marketing — they try for a few months, get burned out, and go dark for 9 months. That open/closed sign is a proxy for your marketing consistency. You need to keep the gallery ‘open’ by consistently posting on social media, capturing emails, sending email campaigns, doing shows or fairs. There will be good vintages and bad vintages like a vineyard, but the vines regenerate every year. Don’t go completely dark.
